Three Courts & Life Rhythm: Learn → Do → Carry
Three keywords
- Upper = learning, understanding, strategy.
- Middle = execution, teamwork, reliability.
- Lower = stamina, recovery, finishing well.
Which phase are you in?
- Starting out: train the Upper — deep reading, build methods, take notes.
- Pushing hard: anchor the Middle — SOPs, weekly standups, burn-down lists.
- Stabilizing: protect the Lower — sleep, exercise, family time, risk buffers.
Put it into OKRs
O (Objective) matches your main court (e.g., “ship 0.9 → 1.1 quality”).
KRs examples
- Upper-phase: 2 deep reading notes/week + 1 written SOP.
- Middle-phase: 2 team retros/week + weekly delivery checklist.
- Lower-phase: ≥7 h sleep, 3 workouts, one fixed family block.
If it’s imbalanced
- Upper long, Middle short → ideas > action: force a 72-hour MVP.
- Middle long, Upper/Lower short → only near-term: block learning time + a rest day.
- Lower long, Upper/Middle short → steady but little novelty: add external pushes (demos, public commitments).
Weekly 5-question check
- Where did I spend most/least energy (Upper/Middle/Lower)?
- What’s the cost of the neglected one?
- What small tweak next week?
- How will I measure it?
- Did I plan a proper finish/recovery?
